# Horus Recording Files

An Introduction to the HRS format

When recording with a Horus system, the files will be written in the HRS format.\
This chapter describes the various files that may be included in a Horus recording.\
\
&#x20;When you get a recording from the recording system it may contain the following files.<br>

<figure><img src="https://i.gyazo.com/d05337d72a052bc9b96c7f7fa14540f3.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<table><thead><tr><th width="188"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Alphamasks</strong></td><td>Mask files for each videostream of a Ladybug 360 camera.<br>Used to blend the images together.</td></tr><tr><td>Bu<strong>ild.txt</strong></td><td>Contains information on how to mux the data.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>setup.hsf</strong></td><td>Determines how the different videostreams/images are projected in the Horus software.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>pipeline.config</strong></td><td>Contains information on the pipeline and its settings.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>.idx</strong></td><td>An index file for the data files.<br><br>One is generated for each grabber/data source..<br>Double-clicking on an .idx file will open the recording in the Movie Player.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>.dat</strong></td><td>Data file containing the data from the sensor, this can be images, positions, trigger data, etc.<br><br>One is generated for each grabber/data source.</td></tr></tbody></table>

These are the files that are present when the recording is first generated.\
The first time you open the recording in the Movie Player/Maker, or when you 'Generate Frames' with the Position Fixer additional files will be generated, these are the following:

<table><thead><tr><th width="187"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>frames.xml</td><td>This file links the images with a position<br><br>This file will always be generated first if it does not exist yet. By default it will use the data stored in the NMEA/Trigger.dat files.<br>When using the Position Fixer, you can create a frames.xml file with the corrected positions from POSPac.</td></tr><tr><td>log.txt</td><td>Contains a report on the how the data was muxed </td></tr><tr><td>signals.csv</td><td>A report on the available signals for each of the data sensors.<br><br>At the top a list is shown with the total amount of triggers for each sensor.<br>Comparing the cameras with the Trigger count can show you if you are missing any images.</td></tr><tr><td>Folders</td><td>Some folders may be created when working with the recording.<br>These may contain data used when muxing the recording, reports, and measurements, etc.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
When you first open a large recording in the Movie Player/Maker the frames.xml will be generated, this may take up to a few minutes.
