# License Activation (V1 - Deprecated)

To activate the Horus Movie Player follow the steps below

## Sharing the Machine Key

Licenses are linked to your PCs via the Machine Key. To generate your license, you will need to forward this key to us.

1. Open the Movie Player.<br>

2. When starting up, the Movie Player might show the "**License Error**" window, if not, go to "**Help -> License Information**".<br>

3. Copy the Machine Key shown in the window.\ <br>

4. Share the Machine key with us.\
   When we have the Machine Key we will generate your license and sent it back to you.&#x20;

## License Activation

1. Start the Horus Movie Player.<br>

2. After starting a window may appear requesting you to activate a license.\
   \
   **Note**: If you do not have a license, you can click on "*OK*" to continue. You will still be able to view the recording, but certain features may be locked.<br>

3. Click "Browse for license".<br>

4. Find your license file.\ <br>

5. Click on "*Open*" to load the file.<br>

6. The License has been successfully activated, please restart the software.<br>

### No Popup Window - Manual Activation

The Movie Player might not always open the '*License Error*' window. In this case, follow the steps below.

1. Go to "*Help -> License Information*".<br>

3. Find your license file.\ <br>
